Peel Tower

Description

Once again, I was stuck at a work function with large gaps of thumb-twiddling, so I brought along the trusty grid paper. (See also Oshar's Mines).  This style of keep is known as a Peel Tower (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peel_tow… ) and is a small square keep or tower house that might double as a signal tower or watchtower.  Similar tower houses are/were found in the Baltic states, Albania (Kullë), and Serbia.

In a fantasy setting, similar towers might be found anywhere.  I tried for a symbol-light approach, but if you must know, a list of unique rooms/features follows:

Ground floor: garderobe (toilet) [upper-right], Gatehouse [bottom-right], trapdoor to basement
Middle floor: grate with access to bottom floor (lifting items, etc.)
Top floor: living quarters, ramparts
Basement: well room [center], oubliette [bottom-right], crypt [right], secret cavern/treasury [upper-right], chapel [top-left]

Map is Creative Commons.  Let me know if you end up using it. :)
P.S.: Tossing gridless map (Peel Tower No Grid) up in scraps if you prefer it that way for virtual tabletoppery.
