Description

"Map of Estphalia, the Northlands, and Surrounding Regions"

A map, obviously. Zoom in and read all the little place names! Well, this is an original Dungeons & Dragons-esque fantasy world, known as Eurden, and this map covers two countries from it.
The funny thing about Eurden, is that while it may have magic and elves and all that jazz, it's much, much closer to our world's Pre-Renaissance Europe, or as it's called on Eurden, "Kernin". By S.Y. 1471, all the orcs and beasty things have been almost totally destroyed, the elves only have two countries on the continent, and the dwarves have been reduced to a trio of small mountain city-states. Meaning, that it's essentially a human realm (albeit with token amounts of gnomes, halflings, dwarves, and elves along for the ride) in which the deciding events shall now be decided by humans working against other humans. Yet magic (both arcane and holy) is still a big influence, and any traveler knows that they can find magical, mysterious, and deadly things only a few hours' ride outside of civilization.

I wrote a short story called "A Birthday Present" about a half-elf apprentice wizard named Tonis Aramil Naïlo (he's half human and half high elf, for those keeping score) who through the course of the story gives a short bio and has a short adventure in Elchester and in Maiden's Peak. which namely, contained a banshee.

I'm also working on another story, a novella tenatively titled "A Midsummer's Present", in which Tonis's master, Jared, receives a letter and then sends his sole apprentice to the port city of Auden. I hope to have it finished this summer (2005) and publish with an on-demand service.

Neither one will be featured on DeviantArt, since, namely, DeviantArt only allows plain text and that does undesirable things to people who put things like italics in their writing. If you want any of my writing, please visit my website ([link])

Nice map! It really looks like it belongs wedged inside the cover of a fantasy novel! Photoshop?
